As the year comes to an end and the new year begins, everyone creates resolutions or goals that they would like to complete. And if you are like me, you create this long list of everything that you want to do and by the end of the year, you find out that you haven’t completed a single goal on the list.
This year will be different. Today, I am going to show you how to write down your goals and actually complete them before the year is up. This post includes some of the advice that I have learned throughout the past year from other bloggers, self-help books, and my own personal experience that I feel everyone can benefit from!
Step 1 – Set a Plan.
When you set a plan, you are more likely to achieve your goals. When you are thinking about what you want to achieve, be as detailed as possible. For example, instead of saying “ I want to get up earlier every morning ” say, “ I want to get up at 6 am each day ”. Once you have the goal, give yourself a time limit or a deadline.
First, you can decide whether it’s a short-term or long-term goal. So that means it can take up to a couple of weeks, months, or even years to complete. It is what works best for you. Make sure to be realistic when doing this. You don’t want to do too much at one time.
Step 2 – Visualize Your Goal.
This can be done by creating a manifestation journal or a vision board. You can cut out images from magazines or print out pictures that relate to your goals. You can even do this with a Pinterest board. You can make it however you want, there are no rules because it’s yours. The more you look at it everyday, the more you will feel motivated to achieve your goals. Visualization is key.
Step 3 – Stay Positive.
Your goals may not always happen the way you want them to, so you have to find a way to stay positive and patient. I do this by reading and writing positive affirmations or manifesting. You can do this by getting your manifestation journal or vision board that you created in Step 2 and write down over and over what your goal is in the present tense.
For example, writing down and saying out loud, “ I will get the job I want” or saying “ I have the job I want ” helps your mind believe that you have already achieved the goal before it has happened. Doing this puts positive energy around you and into the universe. This can also be a spiritual ritual for some people.
Also, make sure to keep some of your goals to yourself. Telling people about your future plans or goals can bring unnecessary negative commentary from your friends or family who might not believe that you can do it. This can make you feel even more unmotivated and can even slow down your process. No one wants negative energy around them when trying to achieve their goals.
Completing your goals becomes easier once you plan it out, work on your visualization skills, and focus on having a positive mindset through affirmations and manifestation. This will help you stay consistent and motivated while working towards your goals. By completing these steps, you will achieve your goals faster and finally say that you have completed your New Year’s Resolutions!
