I love watching YouTube videos of celebrities showing what’s in their purse. It has always been interesting to see what items people use in their everyday lives. These videos always introduce me to new products that I did not know I needed. So, today I thought I would share what is in my bag. But in a blog post instead of a video, lol. As I mentioned in my previous blog post, I carry a tote bag to class. Every Sunday, I make sure that I organize it. This is so I will have everything I need for the week. I try to stay prepared and keep my most essential items with me without making my bag cluttered.
I usually buy all of my bag essentials and supplies from stores like Dollar Tree, Walmart, and Amazon. I always try to find the most affordable items possible.

What’s In My Bag?
Stationery and Supplies
Everyone needs supplies for school. It’s always good to be prepared. You never want to run out of paper or pens. You have to stay organized no matter what. It will make your college experience go by so much easier. First, I keep a small pencil case filled with pens, pencils, highlighters, and sharpies. I also keep a pencil sharpener, white-out, and extra erasers just in case. Next, it is essential to keep a binder with notebooks and folders. I just keep one notebook and folder for each class I need. I also keep post-it/sticky notes for when I need to write something down quick. Some extra supplies you can keep in your binder are rulers and calculators if you need them.
Beauty/Makeup/Accessories
I always make sure that I have my makeup bag. Just like the pencil case, my makeup bag is small too. So, it doesn’t take up a lot of space. Because of this, I do not carry a lot of my makeup with me. I make sure I have the items I absolutely need. This includes my lip balm, lip gloss, lipstick, and eyebrow pencil/brush. Some people keep setting spray, concealer, and even blotting papers. Everyone’s makeup essentials will be different.
For beauty items, I keep hand lotion, mini perfume, and mini deodorant. I also keep hair items like hair ties, bobby pins, edge control, and sometimes a comb or brush depending on my hairstyle. For accessories, items such as sunglasses and an extra pair of earrings are great to have. Also, Tide to go pens and a mini lint roller can be useful too!
Food & Drinks
It is crucial to stay hydrated and energized. You can become so busy with school, work, or just life in general, you forget to take care of yourself. So, whenever I bring my school bag, I make sure that I have my water bottle and a snack. My snack is usually an apple or something else easy to carry, like a breakfast or granola bar. I often bring lemonade water packets for my water. Also, I’ll take instant coffee packets with sweetener and sugar packets for those days when I really need a cup of coffee to stay energized.
Health
Along with taking care of myself with food and water, there are other items that I must take too. With the pandemic still around, it is mandatory to stay clean at all times. So, I always make sure that I have extra masks, hand sanitizer, tissue, and hand wipes. You never know when you might need it.
Another essential health item is medicine. I personally don’t bring any with me right now but, there have been times when I did. Sometimes I take allergy medicine, cough drops, and even ibuprofen with me when I really needed it. There are a lot of good travel medicine cases you can buy. They will fit right in your bag without taking up a lot of space. Lastly, I always have feminine items such as pads/tampons in just in case too!
Necessities
These are the items that I absolutely need no matter what. This consists of my wallet with important cards like my Debit, ID/Driver’s License, and Student ID. I always make sure that I keep cash money with me too. Including quarters just in case for parking or a vending machine. This also includes my keys and my keychain bracelet.
Another necessity, of course, would be my phone and its accessories. I always make sure I have my charger and headphones. Those are always essential items that you should have with you.
Safety
Along with my necessities, I also have safety items with me. On my keychain bracelet, I have pepper spray that I got from amazon. It is simple to use and grab if you need it. It is pink and concealable. No one would even know that it’s pepper spray. It’s perfect for when you are walking alone, and you want to feel protected. I plan to buy more safety items to add to my keychain too. This includes getting a mini flashlight and a defense key ring.
In conclusion, these are the items that I carry in my purse every day. These items include stationery & supplies, beauty & makeup, health, and safety items. Having these items in my bag helps me stay organized and prepared no matter where I am going. Whether it’s work or school, it is always useful to have these items in bag ready!
