The 95th Academy Awards are finally here! This is the night we recognize the best actors, actresses, and films in Hollywood. As we anticipate who will be the big winners of the night (or who will be snubbed), we also can’t everyone’s red carpet looks! Fashion at this event is always one of the most talked about of the year with everyone reminiscing on best looks and fails from past award shows. So, to carry on the tradition, here are my picks for the best dressed at the 2023 Oscars!
Halle looks like a true Disney princess with this beautiful teal dress and gorgeous locs. She effortlessly captures the essence of The Little Mermaid.
Tems’ all white ensemble perfectly brings out her beautiful skin tone. It reminds me of the incredible costume design in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. This iconic film won Best Costume Design for the second time at this year’s ceremony, making Ruth Carter the first black woman to win an Oscar twice. The Academy truly needs to do better.
Like we’ve all been saying this past weeks…Angela Bassett did the thing. She hasn’t missed once on any carpet this year (or ever), and this purple dress shows off her royalty. The Academy needs to finally give her the recognition she deserves after she was snubbed again this year.
Cara Delevingne will always bring her supermodel status to every single red carpet she attends. Her bold red look was mesmerizing and didn’t fail at capturing everyone’s attention. She always proves why she’s one of the best!
This look has to be my absolute favorite of the night! Fan Bingbing’s dress gives me old Hollywood glamour vibes and the green accents brings out her dress even more. It is so unique and will definitely go down as one of the best in red carpet history.
Hong Chau’s look certainly made a statement on the carpet with her black shimmery feathered train that matched perfectly with her light pink dress. She also gave a shout out to her Vietnamese heritage by adding an Mandarin collar to her dress to complete her look.
Halle Berry’s look is both whimsical and aesthetically pleasing. The flowers and high split definitely makes her dress stand out. It’s also on theme for kicking off the beginning of the Spring season. She never fails to look beautiful on the carpet!
Ana De Armas
Ana De Armas brings her role as Marylin Monroe to the carpet. This look was beautifully executed and absolutely fitting for the occasion. It also reminds me of the Marylin Monroe dress that Kim Kardashian wore to the Met Gala, which caused an absolute uproar. But, the train on Ana’s dress gives it a more unique touch.
Stephanie Hsu’s look was both glamorous and bold! You couldn’t take your eyes off her hot pink dress with extravagant ruffles. She says the theme of this dress was “taking up space”. And she’s absolutely right!
Last but not least, Rihanna was absolutely glowing on the red carpet! I loved the way she subtly showed off her baby bump in the cutout of the dress covering it with mesh. She also played with different textures by wearing leather over it. Her long train, high bun, and signature Fenty Beauty red lipstick also added a unique touch to complete her look. She never disappoints on the red carpet!
